Our school district is staffed with two licensed Social Workers, who are trained, mental health professionals. The Social Worker team of Mrs. Lori Govich and Mr. Mike Kovack work hard to meet the varying needs of our district's students, families and staff. Our social workers work in collaboration with our building administrators, school counselors, and other staff to ensure that our students and families receive the support and services they need, so that they can achieve at their highest potential.
Our licensed social workers assist in removing or minimizing barriers students may be experiencing that are impacting their ability to be successful. This is carried out in a variety of ways, including home visits, meetings, both virtually and in person with families and the educational team, and connecting families with needed resources to help navigate through challenging situations.
Finally, they work with staff to provide training and guidance on a variety of topics, implement crisis intervention plans, and utilize community resources and involvement to meet the needs of the families in our district.
