Thank You North Olmsted Community for Supporting the Class of 2018

Thank you to the North Olmsted Community for Supporting the Class of 2018

Thirty-two community and school organizations awarded over 75 different scholarships to the Class of 2018 totaling $79,000 at the Senior Honors Night on May 10th at the St. Clarence Church Hall.

The North Olmsted Kiwanis used yearlong fundraising proceeds to award $22,000.00 in scholarships. The North Olmsted City Schools Education Foundation directly funded $12,000.00 in scholarships and helped administer an additional $3,000.00 including a number of tenacity scholarships. The annual Community Homecoming celebration in August helps provide thousands of dollars in renewable scholarships awarded by the North Olmsted Community Council.

From PTA’s to the Band Boosters, NOHIAN Yearbook, First Federal of Lakewood, Bretton Ridge Women’s Club, Mark Borsz Memorial Art Scholarship, Betty Darnell OAPSE Memorial Scholarship, to the North Olmsted Junior Women, Masonic Temple, NOSO Soccer, North Olmsted Hockey Club, Sodexo, the High School Guidance and Principals, and the West Shore Rotary – the community generously continues to help our graduates continue their education.

Students will go on to many different universities and colleges including Purdue, Ohio State, University of Dayton, Cleveland State, Drury University, Miami University, Baldwin Wallace, Cuyahoga Community College, Lorain County Community College, Kent State, University of Toledo, Howard University, Urbana University, University of South Florida, John Carroll, University of Findlay, Capital University, Bowling Green, Lee University, Air Force National Guard, and more.

On May 23rd, graduates will celebrate their hard work at the third annual “College and Military Signing Day” event.  The students will trade their orange and black spirit wear for shirts and hats from their new schools and celebrate with a special lunch provided by the North Olmsted City Schools Education Foundation.
