YAHOO, IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL TIME!

Isn't it great!! It's been a very hot summer. Let's hope for a cool fall.

The library is ready for the students to come and check out their favorite books and discover some new titles on the shelves.

We do need to go over a couple of basic rules, which we cover with kids the first week of school.

The most important rule, of course, is to have fun with reading and selecting a good book that the student will enjoy and want to read.

Students are reminded that it is their responsibility to return the books on time.

They keep the books out for one week. Books must be returned in the same condition they were in when they were checked out.

If a book is returned in damaged condition, we will assess the damage and determine if the book can be repaired or replaced. The student will be responsible for this cost, and payment must be made before new books may be checked out.

We also have a Birthday Book Club.

A student may join the club for $10 and select a book from our collection. If a parent wished to purchase a new book appropriate for our elementary readers, the $10 fee is waived.

A student can join no matter where his or her birthday falls in the calendar year. The date is recognized on a book plate placed inside the front cover of the book with the student's name and a picture. This picture also goes on our Birthday Book Club poster. The student will also be the first one to check out the book and take it home.
