Dear Butternut Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Winter Break. As we enter a new year, it is also a great time to set goals. Our staff will continue to have the goal of meeting all of our student needs, communicating with you on a regular basis, and creating a positive educational environment. We will strive to continue to lead with HOPE AND HEART!
What will your goals be? Maybe, you have the goal of reading with your son or daughter every day. Maybe, you have the goal of asking your child questions about their school day each and every day. Maybe, you will find some time to play math games with your son or daughter. It definitely is exciting to think about as we embark on a new year!
As we enter our new year, I also have a few more key items for you to review:
Student Writing Superstars
The students at Butternut participated in our first annual writing contest. The topic was I LIKE BUTTERNUT BECAUSE. We received over 100 writing samples and awarded students at an assembly. I was very proud of our student writing. I hope you enjoyed the published copy that each family received. What an amazing job by our students!
PTA Assembly
Thank you to the PTA for providing our Jim “Basketball” Jones assembly on 12/16. He delivered an excellent anti-bullying message to our students. He left them with the idea that it is important to be an UPSTANDER!
Key Dates
Please continue to check our web site on a regular basis. This will provide you with all of the updates you need!
I am so excited to enter the 2nd half of our school year. I believe that our students are making improvements every day. I can’t wait to see where they are by the end of the school year! Again, thank you for the honor and privilege of working with your children!
Respectfully Yours,
Chris Caleris
