The Builders Club is a great opportunity for students to spend time after school with friends while planning projects to help others. Builders Club is a community service organization sponsored by the North Olmsted Kiwanis. We have a counter part group at the high school, Key Club. In the middle school we lay down the foundation for leadership in community service, hence the name, Builders Club. Builders Club members are given the chance to use their creative minds to think of ways to help those in need. In November the club sponsored a candy donation. Students and teachers donated bags of candy, then Builders Club worked together to make delicious goodie bags to give to a homeless shelter. The group loves to bake, so they planned a bake Sale for December 3, 2009. The students will work together making delicious brownies, cookies, cupcakes and chocolate pretzels. Yum! The members plan to buy material with the proceeds from the bake sale, which they will use to make blankets for children in a homeless shelter. The club also planned a few holiday crafts that they will take to the Breakfast with Santa event that will be held at the North Olmsted Party Center on December 12, 2009. There the club members will have fun making crafts with kids from the community. These are just a few of the fun community service activities that the students have planned. All students are welcome to join the club and be a part of the excitement.
